How to use Yummly

Have you heard of Yummly yet?

Yummly is a FREE smartphone app and website that provides an easy way to view and save recipes that suits your personal needs, wishes and tastes. It’s like having your own personal little corner in the world wide web where you can store and upload your own recipes and save other recipes from your favorite bloggers and other foodie websites.

I have signed up for Yummly several weeks ago and I must say I am very happy to have finally done so. It’s the place I visit online when I want to search for new delicious inspirations and if I wish to add to my own personal collection. Even before I signed up for the site, I was happy to learn that a few of our readers who are already members of Yummly have actually added and yummed some of our recipes which can now be found in the Yummly website. Here is Manila Spoon’s Publisher Page where you can find some of our recipes already added by our followers. Because of this it is now so easy for them to access their favorite recipes from Manila Spoon. Below are some of our recipes which may look familiar to you.

It’s pretty easy to join Yummly and as I mentioned – it is Free! To join go to Yummly  and follow the prompt from the “Join” button on the front page and fill in the details or as a shortcut you can sign in using your Facebook account, too. I did the latter. The neat part is that you can configure your own page to reflect your taste preferences. Below I have noted what my favorite cuisines are. Tweak it according to your dietary needs, cooking skill, etc.

You can of course add your own recipes and also search for recipes.

And if by any chance there’s a new recipe you have discovered online and wish to add that to your collection simply use the Yum button and voila a recipe is added to your recipe box. See below how you can add the Yum bookmarklet to your tool bar. If you are using Chrome like me you can also add the Yum button as an extension.

And now you’re all set and can have a delicious collection just like this!

Or this!

If you have a favorite recipe from Manila Spoon or one you have been wanting to try – simply click the yum button on our site or on your computer and add it to your collection. This way you’ll never miss the recipe and you also help us let others know about our recipes. Win-win situation for both of us!

I hope you find this tutorial helpful and begin to YUM your favorite recipes from here and on your other favorite sites as well. Happy YUMMING!

I've just gotten into using Yummly recently, but almost like it better than pinterest in some ways for tracking recipes to try.
