Prepare or make 2 cups (16 oz) of your favorite coffee. Do not add any cream but leave it black.
Place eggnog in a saucepan big enough to accommodate about 4 cups of liquid. Cook and stir just until heated through. Do not allow to boil. Pour in the coffee and stir. Pour into cups or mugs. Garnish with whipped cream and sprinkle with ground cinnamon or nutmeg, if desired. Serve immediately.
