Ingredients

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can Evaporated Milk, small
  • 3/4 cup Butter, melted
  • 1 (16 oz) bag Caramels, unwrapped
  • 1 (12 oz) bag Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Pecans, chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, 1/2 of the small can of evaporated milk and melted butter. Mix well. Press half of the mixture into a greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake for 7 minutes.
  • While cake is baking, in a saucepan over medium heat, combine the remaining evaporated milk with the caramels. Melt, stirring often (this can also be done in the microwave).
  • Remove cake from the oven. Sprinkle the entire bag of chocolate chips and the pecans all over the cake. Do not mix. Pour the melted caramels all over.
  • Top with spoonfuls of remaining cake mixture. Bake for another 18-20 minutes or until cake is cooked through. Cool before cutting. Serve warmed up or at room temperature. Perfect with vanilla ice cream or extra chocolate or caramel syrup drizzled all over.
