In 10 minutes or less, you have a delicious, fuss-free, spring, and summer-perfect dessert that will delight everyone - Balsamic Strawberries with Mascarpone! The contrast of flavors is amazing!
Combine mascarpone, cream, vanilla, and 2 tablespoons white sugar in medium bowl. Whisk until thick soft peaks form. This can be made up to 4 hours ahead. Chill in the refrigerator until needed.
To make the balsamic sauce, combine vinegar, brown sugar, and lemon juice in a heavy, small saucepan. Turn the sauce into syrup over low-medium heat until the sugar is melted, syrupy, and coats the back of a spoon. Set aside and allow to cool completely. This can be made a day or two ahead.
Before serving, mix the prepared strawberries with remaining 2 tablespoons of white sugar. Drizzle with the balsamic sauce, then toss to blend. Allow the mixture to stand for about 30 minutes. Stir, then divide the berries with its sauce into 6-8 bowls, then top with mascarpone cream mixture. Enjoy.
Notes
TipsIf you don’t have 30 minutes to spare, it’s also good if served right away. But, at least cool the sauce completely first before mixing it in.
