17ozpackagefamily-size of Oreo or chocolate sandwich cookies
1/4cupof butter
3ozpackage of chocolate instant pudding mix
3ozpackage of vanilla instant pudding mix
3 1/2 - 4cupsmilk
8ozpackage of cream cheesesoftened
1cupof powdered sugar
1teaspoonof vanilla extract
8ozcontainer of whipped toppingor more as desired
Gummy worms for decoration
Instructions
Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs by placing the cookies in a Ziploc bag and crushing them with a rolling pin or using a food processor. Save a small portion of the cookie crumbs (about 1 cup) to use as a topping later.
In a separate bowl, mix the remaining crumbs with melted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of your glass trifle bowl, creating the cake's base.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate and vanilla instant pudding mix with the cold milk. Whisk until the mixture thickens, which usually takes about 2 minutes.
Once the pudding is ready, pour it over the cookie crumb base inside the glass trifle bowl. This will serve as the "mud" layer for your No Bake Diet of Worm Cake.
In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Gently fold in the whipped topping, creating a luscious and fluffy layer. This layer represents the "soil" above the pudding layer. Spread the cream cheese mixture on top of the pudding layer in your glass bowl.
Layer the remaining crushed chocolate cookies or Oreos on top of the cream cheese layer to add extra texture and flavor.
Spoon the remaining pudding on top of the crushed Oreos.
Sprinkle the reserved cookie crumbs on top. Decorate with gummy worms! Chill to allow to set for about 2 hours. Enjoy!
Notes
Tips and TricksInstead of using two different instant pudding mixes, opt for just the chocolate version for a stronger chocolate flavor. You can also, add an extra 4 oz of whipped topping to the cream cheese mixture if you wish to double its layer. I opted to just do one layer but you can easily double this.
