Easy Peach Dump Cake

A cross between a cake and a cobbler you can't beat how easy and quick this peach dump cake is to make using yellow cake mix and canned peaches in heavy syrup. Adding some spice to the mix elevates this easy dessert plus the butter makes it even more scrumptious! Just 5 ingredients are all you need. Serve warm with ice cream on top, if desired!

Ingredients
 

  • 15 oz cans (x2) of sliced peaches in syrup
  • 15.25 oz box of yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup salted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Open the cans of sliced peaches and pour them, along with their syrup, into the greased baking dish. Spread the peaches evenly, ensuring they cover the bottom of the dish.
  • Sprinkle the ground cinnamon and nutmeg all over and gently mix with the peaches.
  • Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the peaches, making sure it covers them completely and forms an even layer.
  • Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, ensuring that the entire surface is covered.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbling around the edges.
  • Once baked, remove the peach dump cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. This waiting period allows the flavors to meld together and makes the cake easier to serve.
  • Serve warm as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

TIPS & TRICKS
For an extra touch of flavor, consider adding a sprinkling of chopped nuts, such as pecans or walnuts, over the cake mix before baking.
If you prefer fresh peaches, you can substitute the canned peaches with approximately 4-5 cups of sliced fresh peaches. Toss the fresh peaches with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar before spreading them in the baking dish.
Experiment with different cake mix flavors, such as butter pecan or vanilla, to create unique variations of this dump cake.
