Simply dump the chicken, salsa verde, and seasonings and what comes out of the slow cooker is one super delicious dish. Perfect for your tacos and burritos!
3large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless (about 2 lbs)
1bottle Salsa Verde
1medium onion,chopped
2bay leaves,fresh or dried
2tspground cumin,or adjust amount to taste
3clovesgarlic cloves,peeled and crushed
1tbspjarred sliced jalapeno or 1 fresh jalapeno,seeded and sliced
salt and pepper,to taste
Instructions
Place the chopped onions at the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the chicken breasts on top and add the rest of the ingredients. Cover and let cook for 6 hours on low or until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
Once the chicken is cooked and tender, uncover and shred with a fork. Serve as part of your tacos or burritos with some sour cream, cheese, fresh chopped cilantro and corn salsa on the side.
Notes
TIPS & TRICKS:For even better flavor, heat the cumin by dry-stir-frying it in a small skillet until aromatic - about a minute or less. Heating spices allow them to release their flavors. Once heated through, add to the slow cooker with the rest of the ingredients. Or, you can mix it with the salsa verde before pouring it into the crockpot.
