Once a month, we have the newly-married couples in our church over for some fun and fellowship. To make it less formal and a relaxed atmosphere we usually have a potluck where everyone who is able may bring either appetizers or side dish to share. So it doesn’t get boring, I try to come up with different varieties of dishes to offer. However, there are times when elaborate preparations are impractical as there are always things that come up unexpectedly and so I have to make sure that at the last minute, I have a fall back dish I can easily make when time is running out.
Thankfully, these prosciutto-wrapped mozarella sticks can easily save the day. After all, we always have at hand store-bought mozarella sticks as my kids love them for snack and my little boy is also a huge fan of prosciutto for his lunch sandwich so chances are, we have a pack or two in the fridge when the need arises. At any rate, these ingredients are quite easy to find in any grocery store which makes it even more convenient.
To save and stretch the ingredients a bit, I use about half of the prosciutto and wrap it around one cheese stick and then slice it to make two instead of one. This way it’s not only a money saver but also ensures that nothing is wasted as the slices are more bite size rather than a long piece. Enjoy!

No fuss appetizer that requires only 2 ingredients. Prosciutto-Wrapped Mozarella Sticks – you can’t get any easier than this! Also great as a low-carb, protein-rich snack!
- 8 pieces thinly-sliced Prosciutto, or more as needed
- 8 pieces Mozarella string cheese, or more as needed
- Using kitchen scissors, cut lengthwise the prosciutto slices. Take one cut-up slice and wrap it around one string cheese.
- Slice the string cheese into 2 sticks. Arrange on a plate and serve.
Yield: 16 pieces
