Christmas is certainly in the air right now! How can I miss it? Everywhere I go I see signs of the holiday spirit! It seems like stores have been completely decked with Christmas decorations immediately after Halloween and weeks before Thanksgiving. And it’s not just stores but restaurants and other public places are now full of holiday cheer. Did you notice that to?

Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining at all. In fact, I love it!!! Guess why? The Philippines is known to have the longest holiday season and I don’t think anyone can beat us. Why do I say that? Because the holiday season begins as soon as the -BER months begin. Yes, as soon as September 1 arrives then it’s officially holiday season in the Philippine republic. Crazy, right? This is so true and I’m not kidding!

In fact, we used to have a contest, when I was growing up, to see who would send or give the earliest Christmas greetings! To this day, it’s still amusing to read my friends’ holiday greetings as early as September 1 on my FB newsfeed. Sometimes I do this too but I often forget so someone always beats me to it!!!

Talking of holidays, I love to put some holiday spirit not just through my early Christmas greetings but certainly on my favorite morning drink, too! Come November when stores begin stocking up on my favorite holiday drink – eggnog – I immediately purchase a carton or 2 as my son loves it too. I use eggnog often to make desserts but my favorite way to drink it all up is by adding it to my coffee. I love how my favorite slightly bitter coffee gets a dose of creamy sweetness from eggnog. It makes it so delightfully tasty!

And if I am feeling rather indulgent, I don’t stop with just coffee flavored with eggnog but I also top it with some freshly whipped cream and sprinkle it all over with either ground cinnamon or nutmeg for an even tastier and more festive hot beverage perfect for the season. So why settle for the usual coffee when you can spice it up with holiday cheer by adding some eggnog to it? If you haven’t tried this yet, you’re certainly in for a treat!!!
