Hilton DoubleTree Chocolate Chip Cookies (The Official Recipe)

This is the real deal! – The official recipe of Hilton DoubleTree Chocolate Chip Cookies! We tried and tested it and it tastes just like the cookies we had at the hotel. So yummy!

Hurrah! DoubleTree by Hilton Reveals Official Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe and we’ve put it to the test and the cookies came out perfect! Tastes just like the cookies I have tried many times at DoubleTree!

If you’ve been to any DoubleTree Hotel at all, then you’d be all too familiar with their fabulous chocolate chip cookies. In fact, once you have entered the hotel premises you cannot miss the delicious aroma of freshly baked cookies wafting through the air.

As a way to welcome their hotel guests, during check-in, they are heartily served with a cookie or 2. These cookies are quite big in size so one is enough per person but since they are so deliciously good and chewy with meltingly tender chocolate we often end up asking for more. Since we still had quite young kids then, they were also quite happy to oblige.

So when my kids and I learned that Hilton actually released their recipe for their famous cookies, we were all so excited to try them! I thought to myself, let’s test this and see if they look and taste like the cookies we’ve often enjoyed at DoubleTree.

Hilton DoubleTree Cookies

I could happily report that they’re the real deal! In fact, while the cookies are baking, you’d smell the delicious aroma of these yummy treats – just like when you enter the hotel premises.

His verdict – he totally loved them and said they taste just like the cookies we got from the hotel chain. We loved the cookies so much that my then 11-year-old decided to bake them herself. She easily and perfectly baked them as you can see!

But, what about the taste, you’d ask? To have an unbiased and unprejudiced opinion on the matter, I asked my husband to taste the cookies because he can be more of an independent-minded judge (after all hubby knows they’re in my top 2 favorite cookies [the other being Ben’s Cookies – but it’s a toss-up as to which is better as I love them both and I think they are equally fabulous!].

I’ve tried making and tasting the cookies both with and without the walnuts, and they are equally good. So it’s a matter of preference! Do what you prefer!

I am just glad and truly appreciate that Hilton DoubleTree, as a sign of goodwill in this very difficult time, was willing to share their top-secret recipe! In case you haven’t tried it yet, this is your chance to make one of the best tasting chocolate chip cookies on the planet!

And, if by any chance, they decide to remove the recipe from the world wide web, then I’m happy I’ve got my copy right here. Win-win situation, for them and for us, right?

So what are you waiting for, print this recipe and make them ASAP; you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you Hilton DoubleTree for these fabulous cookies!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound or 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup plus (+) 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice,
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 2 2/3 cups Nestle Tollhouse semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 3/4 cups chopped walnuts

Instructions

  • Cream butter, sugar and brown sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes. Add eggs, vanilla and lemon juice, blending with mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then medium speed for about 2 minutes, or until light and fluffy, scraping down bowl.
  • With mixer on low speed, add flour, oats, baking soda, salt and cinnamon, blending for about 45 seconds. Don’t overmix. Remove bowl from mixer and stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.

I really like the idea of being able to freeze the uncooked cookies, so I can make double or triple the amount, make all the mess in one go and freeze the made up cookies to bake another time! I have only had the Hilton cookies once, but I am sure these are delicious!

I’ve always wondered what the big draw was towards the Doubletree cookie. I bet your version is better than theirs.

It’s easy to use measurements in cups than in grams actually but if you wish you can google that. Or get a conversion table with grams and cups. I just made it exactly how DoubleTree wrote it and I don’t want to mess up by converting a perfect recipe. Enjoy!

Its about the same as the toll house cookie recipe only with a little oats and lemon juice.

I like the idea of the oats and lemon juice. I’m not a fan of semi sweet chocolate chips so I would probably change it out to milk chocolate or white chocolate chips.
