Let’s celebrate Father’s Day with these fantastic grilled dishes and sweet treats. I included some yummy desserts as both my hubby and Dad love sweets. A Father’s Day meal won’t be complete without these tasty dishes!
I am so blessed to have a Dad who is a true and genuine example of a godly man. He not only spoke what was right and wrong; he actually lived it. I will not forget the many nuggets of wisdom I learned from my dad. He seemed to always have the right words to say for a particular situation.
There was just no way we could argue with him or get away with wrongdoing because he was always right. No, he didn’t rule us with an iron fist at all; far from it for he is one of the gentlest most soft-spoken person I have ever met (aside from my hubby’s Dad who is another wonderful gentleman).
He corrected us with discipline naturally and for that I am truly thankful, but it was a rebuke that’s tempered with gentleness and not abuse. Even as I have grown I can still remember his many wise words and how he made sure that we grew up doing what is right and pleasing before God.
I still have the letters he wrote to me when I went abroad and lived far away from my family. These letters which showed his love for me, I will forever cherish.
I wish that as a parent I can emulate his example. I would be so happy if I can impart to my kids even half of what our Dad told us. I am just delighted that the Lord has been so kind to bring me a husband who in so many ways is like my Dad.
Very gentle and soft-spoken, my dear husband has never uttered any bad word in my presence nor with the kids. His actions have shown me and the kids that he is a loving and truly considerate Dad. I dedicate this post to him and my Dad, two of the best men in my life – I am truly grateful for both of them.
